Analysing Inglorious Bastards links to films

• The first few shots of IB are similiar to the opening scene in The Sound Of Music - chocolate box camera shot of the alps.
• The Searchers (1956) ending scence - where a character framed in a doorway walks away. This links with IB, however it's been stripped of its effectiveness as The Searchers is more dramatic (as it's the ending scene) and the storyline is he has just saved his niece - The door then shuts and it's the end of the film. It's takes a more media literate audience to see the link.
• Family Guy - parody - uniforms are very smart and are designed by Hugo Boss. Element of parody. IB offers a parody of Nazi's - especially Hitler.
